And this falls into the category of sports image rights. A player should always remember that the picture of their item is of great value to the sponsors, and should appreciate this fact in their mind. And the time, the company will get the authority over it, they will use it the way they want and with who ever they want, only by paying you a very small share, while you will not be in a position to do anything.
Just like any other legal matter, the sports image rights are a very complex and intricate process, which has been addressed by the government before and they have defined specific sets of rules and regulations, so that no unnecessary exploitation or benefit should be taken from or of the person or its respective belonging. And just like any other agreement, the rules or boundaries defined, can be negotiated as per the comfort and understanding of both the parties, provided they stay within the limits of the law. The tax status should also be defined priory and properly so that any complication later on can be avoided.
